Make a smash hit like Jolene

Hey Reader,

You got the goods to compose a pop hit that's stuck on a loop in the minds of Gen Z on their way to work.

Yes I believe you're THAT talented.

And maybe "you're not a singer", a la Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso", but I bet you have the tenacity and drive (maybe deep down, maybe bubbling under the surface, maybe it's boldly public for all to see).

But oftentimes you're overwhelmed with external noise and expectations of what success and culturally-relevant achievement looks and feels like.

Which can feel pretty damn heavy and daunting.

So I'm here to bring that oldest sibling energy to encourage you that success isn’t based on inherent talent, but actually from the high amount of output you create.

As in, you're devoted to your practice or craft, and you're not giving up because you're in it for the long game.

I think back to the book "Written: How to Keep Writing and Build a Habit That Lasts" by Bec Evans and Christ Smith.

One section helped me feel so free and instilled a new sense of confidence with the skills, knowledge, and resources that I already have now.

They talked about their research on what the common denominator was between highly awarded, prestigious innovators and creators throughout history.

It wasn't how much education they had or if they were child prodigies.

💥 What was actually a common thread was that they created A LOT 💥

It's like thinking of a raffle—the more tickets you enter, the higher chance you have of winning that desirable, high value prize.

So if you only wrote 1 poem, or made 1 painting, or organized 1 event, or invented 1 product, or just created 1 thing of something...

It can often feel challenging when it doesn't meet our expectations.

So while it might be difficult to even get started or have eyes on your 1 thing, don't let it be the only thing you make in this lifetime.

Rather, let it just be your first draft.

View your creative life as an experiment.

View each piece you put out into the world as neutral data that you observe and learn from at each step of the way.

I was not a strong designer, but I've been refining my craft for over a decade and now have created for high profile clients and have designed my own business where other entrepreneurs have praised my brand essence based on my Instagram feed alone.

To experience "success" is to have the persistence and ambition to stay in it for the long game.

Reader, can you be in relationship with your craft and visionary ideas regularly?

Can you develop your own metrics of success and consistency that feel nourishing and exciting for you?

➡️ Integration Invitation:

1. Set a timer for 20 minutes
2. Brainstorm what your metrics of success looks and feels like (ex: felt safe to share my passion project with my best friend, took a dance break everyday this week in between my back to back Zoom calls, submitted 2 poems to 4 indie magazines this season)
3. Decide what it looks like to be consistent with your craft (ex: 15 min a day, 1 hr a week, one full Saturday a quarter)
4. Email me back or tag me about your results on social media!

It's my mission to support heart-led creatives and entrepreneurs to bring forth their visionary ideas to life.

So often, those ideas are repressed or hidden away, when in fact, your community is eagerly awaiting for you to courageously share your medicine.

If you're ready to get paid & recognized for your visionary work while honoring your wellbeing, I have limited spots for my private creative mentorship, Vessel for VIP Visionaries.

Let's chat if you have any questions, and I can't wait to support you through all your innovative experimentations with confidence and ease.
